Facts on our forests

Stora Enso is one of the largest private forest owners in the world, with forest assets valued at more than EUR 7 billion in 2020. Globally, Stora Enso owns or manages lands covering a total area of 2.34 million hectares. About 30% of the wood used in Stora Enso's products comes from our own forests or long-term supply agreements.

The climate benefits and economic values from growing forests are gained while promoting biodiversity and other sustainability aspects. Our customers can be assured that our products originate from sustainably managed forests. 98% of the lands we own or manage are covered by forest certification. Stora Enso owns forest land in Sweden and also has biological assets in Finland, Brazil, Uruguay, and China through subsidiaries and joint operations, and indirectly through equity accounted investments.
